Name: Fregata (no surname)

Rank: Peregrine

Race: Alpha Harpy

Age: 15 (Alpha harpies are fully mature at age ten.)

Gender: Female

Hair:
-Emerald-colored

-Full back-length

-Flowing, but also of a wild/feral style that spikes a bit in places

Eyes: yellow with a steely gaze

Clothes:
-Undergarments are only a few strategically placed strips of black leather; this is usually all that most harpies wear.

-High-ranking harpies like Fregata will also wear a ceremonial armor of sorts containing the bones of their enemies/prey permanently splattered red with blood.

-Like most alpha harpies, Fregata had a replica of her original armor that she usually wore instead to keep the former in good condition for ceremonies; both sets were lost during the First Antikythera War to Beryl’s Pretty Gift glyphs.  Fregata also had a third set replicated just in case, which is what she currently wears.  She was barely able to retrieve it before being officially exiled and without access to her forge she is no longer able to do anything more than repairs.

-Likenesses of her parent’s skulls, namely the face portions from the cheek to the forehead, are situated on both sides of her head as part of the set.

-The armor’s torso area is a one-piece-swimsuit-like corset composed of iron serpent scales dyed crimson and held together with replicas of flexible ribs from three of her former rivals and one “friend” that she killed in cold blood at the age of five over a matter involving who got to eat a still-beating heart.  The design is sturdy and flexible, but is also skintight and shows off a significant amount of cleavage.  A series of bronze bull and land-based humanoid ribs horizontally encircle the outside of Fregata’s armor, especially around the waist.

-The armor is far heavier than it seems and sometimes Fregata will need to cast it off in order to take full advantage of her speed, so it’s designed with an internal trigger for quick release.

-Fregata has a shoulder pad on each side of her wings constructed with leather from beasts that naturally exhibit magical properties in order to support the amplification rune etched into it.  She also has kneepads with the same construction scheme and a second pair of runes.

Ears: Like regular birds, Fregata has small openings in her head that are usually hidden by her hair.

Tail:
-a birdlike tail with lilac feathers that extends down to the halfway point of Fregata’s calf

-Fregata can expand and contract her tail’s fan of feathers in order to better steer in the air.

Talons:
-Instead of feet, Fregata sports a pair of talons with three digits plus a fourth on the opposing end; they are covered in emerald-colored scales that go up to the bottom third of her calf.

-Though her talons look like scaled-up versions of a hawk’s, complete with 4-inch (10 cm) curved claws, they are surprisingly at least as dexterous as human hands.  Fregata can wield practically any handheld tool via her talons without much difficulty.

-Fregata is currently capable of rending both bone and steel to shreds with her talons.

-After Martha altered Fregata’s body, the scales covering Fregata’s talons began secreting a powerful, purple toxin that collects on her skin and trickles down her claws.  Said poison doesn’t harm Fregata (though she doesn’t like the taste), but it’s capable of melting victims from the inside out alongside dissolving many conventional construction materials, needlessly complicating Fregata’s ability to perch.

Wings:

-Fregata’s upper limbs are designed solely for flying, which is why her talons are so flexible and strong.

-Her wingspan is about 15 ft. (4.57 m) and her wing muscles are powerful enough to generate miniature tornadoes and harsh gales of up to 100 mph (170 km/h) even without the amplification of her runes.

-Fregata’s wings are covered in lilac-colored feathers, though she also dyes the tips and the very bottoms of her wings red with blood.

Teeth:

-Fregata does not have a beak.  Instead, she sports a set of sharp, pointed, triangular teeth that are quickly replaced whenever they are broken off in a fashion akin to sharks.

-Fregata can extend her jaws up to 4 in. (10 cm) from her mouth like a goblin shark to better bite and grasp prey.

-Fregata’s bite is presently strong enough to easily crush bone and many metal alloys of moderate hardness.

Build and Other Harpy Traits:

-Fregata’s skin complexion is very pale, though it doesn’t burn in the sun.

-Aside from her D cup breasts, Fregata’s torso frame is more on the slim side, especially around her waist, which gives the appearance of a strong hourglass figure when her gizzard is empty.

-Fregata is quite tall at about 6’6” (198 cm) when standing upright, but her legs are disproportionately long, accounting for about two thirds of her height.

- Fregata’s flexible legs are well toned and far stronger than they appear.  In addition, their movement range is wider than a human arm’s.

-Like most birds, Fregata has hollow bones in order to cut down on unnecessary mass to aid in flight.  In fact, she only weighs about 140 lbs. (63.5 kg) on an empty gizzard.

-Fregata can still fly when weighed down by up to a ton (907 kg) of extra weight due to both food and carried items.  However, her speed and maneuverability will suffer.

-Fregata has lilac-colored down covering her legs from the scales of her talons to her upper thighs.  She also has some feather fluff around the perimeter of her breasts and a couple of thin lines around her hips.

-Fregata has no biological need to sleep and in fact had never done so before being forcefully put under by Martha when she was altered.

-Fregata can survive longer without oxygen and needs much less of it to function compared to land-based species.

Element: Wind, Lightning, and a little Water and Poison

Allied Faction: Herself (technically Mythran Allanar)

Relatives: Fregata ate all of her siblings when only a few days old.  She also assaulted, devoured, and killed both her birth mother and guard mother when she was two, which wasn’t typical for a hatchling outside of the parent sustaining a major injury or the possible squabbles over territory that wouldn’t have normally occurred until Fregata was ten.

Lifestyle: Fregata is an extremely adept hunter and will eat almost anything that she can catch, though she does prefer to have her prey hopelessly fight back during a meal.

Personality: Fregata is exceptionally vicious, sadistic and can hold grudges for years and over even the most trivial things.  If someone is in her way, even a close friend or loyal subordinate, she won’t hesitate to kill.  She is also quick to anger and possesses a substantial superiority complex.  Although Fregata has the intelligence to enact both complex strategies in the heat of battle and elaborate attempts to exact revenge or torture, she tends to let her temper get the better of her and can easily be provoked into flying headfirst into a trap or ambush.

Fregata will only acknowledge bloodthirsty and cruel individuals and even then, only women due to cultural prejudice against men, which are literally unnecessary and nonexistent in harpy society.

-fresh blood

-being in charge

-demonstrations of strength and brutality (women only)

-high altitudes

-torturing her food

-eating her food alive

-exacting revenge

Dislikes:

-Beryl

-being barfed on

-warm temperatures

-low elevations

-Beryl

-humid, stuffy environments

-underground areas

-being underwater (Despite being able to fly unhindered in hurricane conditions, harpies can’t swim.)

-Beryl

-Martha

-Satsu

-Kazuhiku

-Beryl

-males

-laboratories

-being under anyone’s command unless she has chosen a mate to do so, which hasn’t happened yet

-and most of all, Beryl

Weapons:

-a pair of wings that can both whip up powerful gusts and smack around foes at close range

-sharp teeth with protrudable jaws

-lethal talons

-A pair of customized claws that are fitted over said talons.  Each of Fregata’s eight toes has a 24 in. (60 cm) curved blade to manipulate, making her talons even more dangerous.

-The blades were crafted by Fregata herself according to harpy tradition, which includes creating a unique metal from her used teeth blood, certain ores, and a strange dancing ritual.  The resulting alloy is nonreflective and dark gray in appearance.

-When combined with Fregata’s strength, these blades are capable of slicing through almost anything short of materials on par with adamantium alloys.

- Like some species of birds, harpies have been known to urinate on their legs and feet to cool off.  The bladed claws contain microscopic canals as part of the design to take this into account.  The tiny grooves prevent the urine from pooling in any one place and allow it to quickly flow throughout the metal surfaces in order to both cool the claws and maximize the surface area for quick evaporation.  Once Fregata started to secrete poison from her talons, that too was able to take advantage of these pathways.

Abilities:

-Fregata’s four runes allow her to amplify her elemental control

-able to manipulate the wind into a maelstrom with a few flaps of her wings

-generates lightning for both offensive strikes and defensive barriers

-can reach mach speeds of flight in practically an instant when carrying minimal weight

-extremely keen eyesight

-secretes a powerful, dissolving poison from her talons, which easily gets mixed in with her slashes

-can slowly regenerate and heal injuries through eating fresh kills

-Ultimate Technique: Fregata creates a large-scale tornado and catches her foes inside.  She then turns the funnel into a whirling vortex of pure electricity for massive damage.

Strength:  7/10

-Fregata is able to amplify the already respectable power of her deadly blows with both her speed and the sharp blades commonly attached to her talons.

Speed:  10/10

-Fregata can easily break the sound barrier in the midst of battle.

Tactic:  4/10

-Although Fregata is very capable of potent mid-battle strategies, she has a tendency to fly off the handle and let her temper and bloodlust blind her if she’s riled up enough.

Teamwork:  2/10

-Fregata doesn’t usually play well with others, especially men.  However, she will cooperate with women she respects, like Shiko.

Magic:  4/10

-Fregata does have some mediocre magical ability in both Wind and Lightning.  However, her runes allow her to greatly amplify their potency.

General Info:

The Harpy Mountains of Antikythera are a harsh and unforgiving environment, so the resident harpies had to be equally tough and brutal in order to survive.  However, even by alpha harpy standards, Fregata was always exceptionally vicious.  When she quickly killed and devoured her three nest mates only a couple of days after hatching, no one batted an eye about their disappearance as hatchlings pushing siblings out of the nest and to their deaths was a fairly common occurrence.  However, when Fregata tortured, maimed, ate, and killed both of her mothers at the age of two, the harpy elders took notice; it was the first time in their history that such a young harpy usurped her own territory in such a manner and she was immediately given the rank of Red-Tail.

Over the next few years, Fregata was the target of many power plays within harpy society.  Several of her societal sisters barfed at her feet on a daily basis; if Fregata were to partake of the puke, it would be considered akin to accepting a marriage proposal.  However, she instead became irritated by the gestures of her sisters early on and when she eventually learned of the significance of the spews, she became so paranoid that she began beheading anyone who even looked ready to regurgitate.  When she was confronted about her actions by the Dodo of the time, Fregata made clear that she would be the one proposing when and if she was ready for a wife.  A couple of harpies with amputated limbs later, the issue was “resolved.”

At the age of eleven, Fregata became the youngest harpy ever to earn the prestigious Peregrine rank, second only to the leading rank of Dodo.  During the next four years, she would sharpen her hunting skills to the point to that many saw her as the strongest of the Peregrines and the next inevitable leader of the flock.

When Demogorgon and Kazuhiku entered the picture, a schism developed among the harpies.  One side favored the Dodo’s decision to stay neutral because though their grounds were harsh and usually sparse, there was already enough to go around “most” of the time.  In addition, almost all harbored cultural distrust towards the two turd stompers, one term of many that stemmed from the harpy belief that the earth was a giant ball of dung and all lower land-based creatures walked on, wallowed, and fed upon it.  The fact that the vampires were men, a role that served no purpose in harpy society, didn’t help matters, either.

The opposing faction, led by Fregata, wanted the harpies to cooperate despite their prejudices.  However, she and her supporters didn’t trust or respect Demogorgon or Kazu in the least; they merely saw the vampires as a means to an end.  When all was said and done, nearly everyone in Fregata’s faction ended up lending a talon to Demogorgon’s side during the First Antikytheran War.

From then on, events would sharply shift away from Fregata’s favor.  To her surprise and dismay, she had suddenly been assigned to patrol the ruined town A’a Leonora with disastrous results [see “The Antikythera Minefield”].  After the humiliating loss of every single one of Fregata’s troops, the Dodo Faction found itself to be in the overwhelming majority and quickly exiled Fregata as punishment for leading so many to their deaths before severing all ties with the von Moriarty family.  Having nowhere else to go, she reluctantly accepted Kazuhiku’s invitation to Mythran Allanar, though she repeatedly butted heads with Kazu and his cronies, making it clear that she would never be loyal to him in the process.

Around the time of Kazu’s celebratory banquet in honor of him becoming a full-fledged vampire, Satsu forcefully took Fregata to Martha on Kazu’s command.  There, the alpha harpy unwillingly underwent several alterations that increased her strength and abilities.  In addition, Fregata’s talons began excreting a powerful poison and another aspect of the procedure altered her chemistry to allow Kazu greater ease in disabling and controlling the vicious harpy via her blood alongside other precautions to keep her in line.

Fregata loathes Kazu with a deep passion and would gladly kill him herself given the slightest opportunity.  She hates Martha for altering her and providing a constant reminder about what the mad scientist did to her in the form of her new venom that not only limits how long and where she can perch, but also keeps seeping into her fresh kills; Fregata was never even informed about her how abilities had changed.  The alpha harpy also hates Satsu and several others; in fact, she is on good terms with very few people, the most prominent being Shiko due to a shared tendency for shedding blood.

However, of all the people Fregata swore to enact her vengeance upon, the one she hates the most is Beryl Nyuphoran.  She blames Melfar Academy’s School Pet for starting and actively aiding in the chain of events that led to her fall from grace and the fact that she’s now stuck on Kazu’s leash.
:iconahehplz: Nyu may remember Fregata from ["The Antikythera Minefield"].  She hasn't exactly been dealt a good hand lately-nya. :iconazu-nyanplz:
